Germain Hyundai

Germain Hyundai, on Auto Mall Drive, was looking to keep up with Hyundai’s image program and ensure customers experienced excellence while at the dealership. To do so, they decided on a complete transformation of one of the oldest structures in the Automall. Renier Construction demolished the entire existing showroom to account for the new structural elements and the façade necessary to stay within Hyundai’s newest design requirements. Demolition also included an existing standalone pre-owned building to allow for the renovation and additions at the Hyundai dealership.

Renier and team noted that the existing structure wouldn’t perform efficiently due to level changes. They determined the best path forward was to lower the new additions to ensure everything was on the same level, as well as adjust the orientation of the dealership. As other buildings were constructed within the Automall, the old building orientation no longer made sense. The new showroom was designed to better face the main access road.

The space now features a new, larger showroom, three EV chargers, a new service write-up area, new car delivery addition, and a new service area addition – as well as a complete renovation of the existing shop and parts area.

Renier also resurfaced the existing parking lots and created an underground stormwater detention. Renier and team worked to ensure both Germain standards and the manufacturer's program standards were met. Paul Germain says:

Renier demolished, constructed, and renovated 34,715 square feet of Germain Hyundai’s facility within 8 months. The Germain team was able to temporarily relocate their operations to an adjacent building which allowed them to compress the timeline. Even with supply chain challenges from material to labor, Renier showed that with increased communication and creative sequencing, they were able to minimize the impact of industry-wide challenges.
