Germain Unveils "Re-Newed" Ford Dealership with Double the Inventory
U.S. Ford Executives to Visit Columbus June 12th for Dedication Ceremony
Rick Germain, Germain Automotive Partnership Owner, announced today the completion of a $12 million redevelopment of the Germain Ford of Columbus automotive complex, located at 7250 Sawmill Road, Columbus, OH 43235. The massive, four-phased automotive construction project began in September 2012, and involved the demolition, building and expansion of the dealership.
U.S. Ford Executives will visit Columbus to attend the June 12th dedication ceremony. Dave Mondragon, Executive Director of U.S. Sales for Ford Motor Company and other Ford executives are expected to participate in the grand re-opening of the Germain Ford of Columbus dealership on Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 6:30 p.m.
“The new complex is stunning and expands the customer experience beyond all our expectations,” said Owner Rick Germain. “We now offer our customers nearly double the selection, our service department capabilities are extraordinary, and we have brought 20 new jobs to the community,” continued Germain.
The expansion of the Ford franchise comes at a time when interest in Ford products is greater than ever. Dealerships across the country were given an opportunity to enhance their dealership facilities through the Trustmark program announced in 2012. The program has exceeded expectations and customer response has been positive.
The 75,485 sq. ft. facility includes a 15,066 sq. ft. showroom, a 9,166 sq. ft. parts department, and a 6,221 sq. ft. general office. The service department expanded to 37 service bays, six large truck service bays, and eight Quick Lane® service bays for oil changes and light repair.
The building was designed by Architectural Alliance and built by Renier Construction. Both organizations have a substantial amount of experience building facilities within the automotive industry. Architectural Alliance and Renier Construction worked within the guidelines of Ford’s successful Trustmark Program.
Germain Ford of Columbus will now be in a position to earn significantly more in inventory than in the past. Germain will earn 900 additional vehicles over a 15-month period, nearly doubling the number of vehicles available to customers at that location. The expanded dealership will create 20 additional positions, bringing the total headcount to 123 employees.
Building efficiency is at an all time high. Although the dealership is twice the size, utility costs are already lower. Renier installed high-efficiency lighting throughout the dealership including LED smart technology, which can be controlled via a wireless computer system from anywhere. Electronic charging stations for hybrid models are also available.
Although 2015 models will not be introduced until the fourth quarter of 2014, Germain has secured three new models for display during the grand re-opening. Visitors can see the new Mustang, Aluminum Alloy F-150 and Ford Expedition at the dealership.
