Renier Expands with Addition of Seasoned Professionals

William Heifner, president of Renier Construction recently announced the addition of Jim Farrell and Steve Giere to the Renier estimating team as senior estimators, and Sid Robbins to the construction team as project manager.

As the economy continues to recover, Renier is experiencing heightened demand for construction services throughout the region. “It is crucial that we are adequately staffed to be able to deliver the highest quality of service to our clients,” said Heifner.

Jim Farrell – Senior Estimator

Jim Farrell will utilize his experience in value engineering, pre-construction estimating, design-build contracting, and project management to serve commercial and industrial clients.

“Jim brings a broad knowledge of the construction process with a focus on design-build estimating. His experience will be a great asset for our clients. We are pleased to have Jim join the Renier team,” stated Heifner.

Farrell began his career at a family-owned construction company working his way from project manager to senior management. Over the course of his 35-year construction industry career, he has been instrumental in the award of significant construction projects and major rebranding programs, while ensuring clients on-time and on-budget results.

Farrell received his bachelor’s degree in Business from Ashland University. Farrell volunteers with the Salvation Army and Volunteers of America, and resides in Blacklick, Ohio.

Steve Giere – Senior Estimator

Steve Giere will utilize his experience in pre-construction and value-engineering to serve commercial and industrial clients in the preparation of budgets through to final cost estimates.

Giere brings 28 years of construction estimating experience to Renier, has worked for some of the largest, and most respected commercial construction companies in the Midwest, and has experience in multiple industries including healthcare, higher education, research, office, recreation, retail and industrial.

“Throughout Steve’s career, he has participated in the budgetary process for projects of all sizes, including large and complex initiatives,” said President William Heifner. “We are pleased to welcome Steve as an experienced professional to serve our clients,” continued Heifner.

Giere earned an A.S. in Civil Engineering from Columbus Technical Institute, an A.S. in Construction Engineering & Management, and an A.S. in Environmental Design & Engineering from Columbus State Community College. He is a LEED Accredited Professional (AP) through the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), and a Certified Cost Consultant (CCC) through AACE International.

Currently Giere serves as secretary of the Central Ohio AACE, and is a member of AACE International. Giere is an Ohio native and currently resides in Westerville, Ohio.

Sid Robbins – Project Manager

Sid Robbins will utilize his extensive experience in site supervision, value engineering, pre-engineered metal buildings, and design-build contracting to serve commercial, transportation and logistics clients.

Robbins brings over 34 years of construction industry experience to Renier, ranging from process and power mechanical work to commercial general contracting.

“Sid is a dedicated construction professional with a proven ability to lead a successful project from design to completion,” stated President William Heifner. “We are pleased that he has chosen to work with Renier, and assist us in bringing projects across the Midwest to fruition for our clients,” concluded Heifner.

Robbins received his B.S. in civil engineering and construction management from The Ohio State University and served in the U.S. Navy. He holds the Engineer in Training (EIT) professional designation from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), and has completed the OSHA-30 safety-training management program.

Robbins is a certified scuba diver and outdoor enthusiast. He currently resides in Ashville, Ohio.
