Giving Back to the Community
While all of us at Renier enjoy being recognized by our peers with all of the industry awards we've received over the years, we are most proud of helping our community. Whether it's having our boom truck serve as a stage at the Ovarian Cancer Coalition, being doused by ice water as a part of the ALS Ice Bucket challenge, or financially supporting many local causes, Renier has a passion for giving back.
The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Dayton, Ohio
Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center serves as a resource to enhance communities by providing individuals and families with activities and programming to meet the needs of every age group. The Renier Construction team is honored to support the Dayton center’s mission through financial support. During the holidays the Renier team also helps distribute turkeys and volunteers at the center's annual Christmas Food Distribution Day.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio
The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio has been keeping families close to Nationwide Children’s Hospital for over three decades by providing housing at the Columbus house – which is the largest in the world. Renier is pleased to support this national organization that gives back to our local families.
A smaller local charity providing much needed services, Angel Works is dedicated to aiding central Ohio families in times of need – including assisting with funeral costs for families who’ve lost a child to cancer. Renier is proud to support this organization financially as well as with our employees who are engaged with this organization.
The YWCA Family Center
The YWCA Family Center has provided emergency shelter and critical services to stabilize homeless families in Central Ohio since 2005. The goal of the organization is to help families find housing within 3 weeks of entering the program.
Boys Scouts of America Simon Kenton Council
The Simon Kenton Council is one of the largest Boy Scout councils in the United States. The council serves 17 counties in central and southern Ohio, as well as Greenup County in Kentucky. Renier commercial construction is proud to be a Silver Level sponsor for the 2016 Simon Kenton Council Clay Target Classic. Each year, Renier forms a trap shooting team for the Clay Target Classic, helping to raise money for the council and their mission of preparing young people for success.
Columbus College of Art and Design
Renier construction founder and president Bill Heifner, formerly served as a trustee and is a current member of the President's Circle for the Columbus College of Art and Design. Heifner was instrumental in establishing CCAD's new green space in 2006. He and his wife, Sandy, donated many trees, walkways and a concrete sitting wall to the area.
Central Ohio Chapter of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition
Each year in September, the Central Ohio Chapter of the Ovarian Cancer Coalition raises funds through its annual 5K walk. The chapter relies on sponsorships and donations to continue its mission of increasing awareness of the disease to the public. Renier is proud to sponsor and participate in the walk as well as donate its boom truck to be used as a stage each year.
Homeless Families Foundation
Established in 1986, the Homeless Families Foundation works to reduce generational homelessness in Central Ohio by providing high-quality customer-focused services. Contributions from Renier help the center support families in need and invest in and maintain facilities such as the Dowd Education Center, an area used by the foundation to provide classrooms, tutoring space and administrative offices.
The Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP)
Renier construction is happy to support the organizations and causes that mean so much to clients and colleagues. The Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) is a non-profit organization created to engage public support and connect local residents and out-of-state visitors to the park to preserve it for future generations. Because this organization means so much to one of Renier’s clients, the team is grateful to contribute to CVNP to bring greater awareness to environmental friendliness.
Abundant Life North American Lutheran Church Walk for Water
Every day, some one billion people go without safe, clean drinking water. During this approximately 1.5 mile walk, participants carry a bucket filled with water to symbolize the trek that women and children make each day to collect water in developing countries. Renier Construction sponsors this event to raise funds in support of safe water projects for Water Missions International.
